Karlie Kloss and Candice Swanepoel – Marvel Turned Supermodels Into Superheroes – GARAGE Magazine and Marvel were joined by supermodels Karlie Kloss, Candice Swanepoel, Lexi Boling and Cuba Tornado Scott, as well as Emily Ratajkowski, Coco Rocha, Derek Blasberg to kick off New York Fashion Week in Super Hero style, celebrating the launch of the publication’s Spring/Summer issue featuring five exclusive covers.

For GARAGE Magazine’s tenth issue, the publication transformed five supermodels — Karlie Kloss, Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima, Lexi Boling and Cuba Tornado Scott — into Marvel’s most popular female Super Heroes. Each of the five Marvel covers were on display inside superhero-sized light boxes, at the Mercer Parking Garage, for guests to view as they toasted to the coming together of fashion and comic books.

BACKGROUND:

The worlds of fashion, comics and digital technology collide with spectacular results as GARAGE Magazine today revealed five special edition covers for their tenth issue celebrating Marvel’s powerful women. Check out also Gucci’s New Permanent Shop-In-Shop at Dover Street Market in New York City.

Produced in creative collaboration with Marvel Entertainment, these covers – on newsstands globally February 11 – feature leading supermodels styled as some of Marvel’s most popular super heroes.

Using the GARAGE Mag app, readers can scan each of the covers to see these leading ladies come to life as 3D digital animations – styled in true comic book form:

  • Adriana Lima as She-Hulk
  • Karlie Kloss as Black Widow
  • Lexi Boling as Captain Marvel
  • Candice Swanepoel as Spider-Gwen
  • Cuba Tornado Scott as Thor
